Apple Mail Email Setup Instructions
Use these detailed, step-by-step instructions to set up Apple Mail to work with your personalized email account provide by EmailAddressStore.com. Apple Mail can be setup to access your email messages using POP or IMAP.
The main information you will use is:
User Name: your full email address, ie You@YourDomainName
Password: as you setup
Incoming mail server for POP3 accounts: pop.secureserver.net, or
Incoming mail server for IMAP accounts: imap.secureserver.net
Incoming server port for POP 3 accounts: port 110, or
Incoming server port for IMAP accounts: port 143, or if you have SSL enabled, use 993.
Outgoing mail server (SMTP): smtpout.secureserver.net
Outgoing mail server (SMTP) requires authentication - it does not require "secure password authentication (SPA)".
Here's how to setup Apple Mail to send and receive your email messages:
- From the Mail menu, select Preferences
- Select the Plus Symbol to create a new account
- In the Add Account window, enter your full name, email address and password. Then click Continue
- In the Incoming Mail Server window, from the Account Type list, select either POP or IMAP
- Enter your email account information as follows:
- Description
- Enter the name that you'd like this email account to be listed under (e.g. My Email Account)
- Incoming Mail Server
- For POP, enter pop.secureserver.net or for IMAP, enter imap.secureserver.net
- User Name and Password
- For the User Name, enter your full email address. Also enter the Password that you setup for your email account
- Click Continue
- In the Incoming Mail Security window,select Authentication. Do not check Use Secure Sockets Layer. Then click Continue.
- In the Outgoing Mail Server window, enter your account information as follows:
- Description
- Enter the name for this mail server (e.g. My Email Account)
- Outgoing Mail Server
- Enter smtpout.secureserver.net
- Select Use Authentication
- User Name and Password
- For the Username, enter your full email address. Also enter the Password for your email account
- Click Continue
- In the Outgoing Mail Security window, be sure Authentication is selected. Do not check Use Secure Sockets Layer. Then click Continue.
- An Account Summary window reviews the account details. Verify that your account information is accurate, and then click Continue.
